A fellow of the Jesus Seminar, he is Canon Theologian of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon, and Hundere Distinguished Professor of Religion and Culture at Oregon State University. Otis Moss, Jr.

Otis Moss, Jr. has been an advocate for education, social justice, civil and human rights all his adult life. He was a board member and Regional Director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was Co-pastor with Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr., at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta and recently retired after 33 years as Senior Pastor of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church in Shaker Heights, Ohio. He has served as a trustee of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Non-violent Social change and Chairman of the Board of Morehouse College. Dr. Moss' work for reconciliation and non-violent social change in the international community has been recognized around the world.

Author of A New Kind of Christianity. An author, speaker, activist, and networker among innovative Christian leaders, McLaren began his career teaching college English. He left teaching in 1986 to become founding pastor of Cedar Ridge Community Church, an innovative, transdenominational church in the Baltimore-Washington region (crcc.org). In 2006, he left the pastorate to devote full time to writing and speaking. Brian has been active in networking and mentoring church planters and pastors since the mid 1980’s, and has assisted in the development of several new churches.

author of Take this Bread. Sara Miles founded The Food Pantry at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco in 2000, and wrote about her work in Take This Bread.The Food Pantry provides free groceries to over 800 hungry families every week, buying between eight and ten tons of food each week, for just pennies a pound, and offers it free to everyone who comes. Families select the food they need from a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, rice, pasta, beans, cereal, and dry goods.
